Mig-35 offered to India matches all requirements: Russia

Press Trust Of India
Moscow, July 26, 201

Russia on Monday said that its new Mig-35 fighter had passed Indian Air Forces three evaluation tests and matched all requirements listed by New Delhi in the $10 billion tender for 126 medium multi-role combat aircraft (MMRCA). "The requirements of the tender are quite rigid, but we have already held three valuation tests, and we believe we have offered an aircraft which entirely corresponds to the tender requirements," a senior official of the Rosoboronexport State Corporation Sergei Kornyev said.
His comments come as India is believed to be in the process of shortlisting the bidders.
Major aircraft manufacturers including the French Dassault Aviation with its Rafale jet fighter, US Lockheed Martin with its F-16 Falcon and Boeing with F-18 Super Hornet, the Swedish Saab with its most up-to-date Gripen fighter and Eurofighter are in the fray along with MiG-35 Fulcrum-F.

Kudroli Gokarnath Temple, Mangalore

An important temple in Mangalore, Kudroli Gokarnath Temple, built in 1912, is one of the main attractions of Mangalore. Sri Gokarnanatheshwara temple is a unique temple built by Sri Narayana Guru, the saint and social reformer from Kerala, and is the only one in Karnataka by Guru. The reformist Narayana Guru installed this temple for the Billava community, who were prohibited the entry to other temples.

Gokarnanatheshwara, Lord Shiva, is the main deity. The main temple is surrounded by the smaller temples for Mahaganapathi, Subramanya, Shaneeshwara, the Navagraha, Annapoorneswari and Anandabhairava. Murals, showing a variety of scenes from legends, mythology and epics, of different gods and goddesses decorate four gopuras, pillars in this temple constructed in the Tamil Nadu style.

The major festivals celebrated with enthusiasm are Navaratri and Shivratri. This is a religious place renovated recently and looks more beautifu
l.

Mangalore is in possession of some of the most ancient historical temples of KarnatakaKadri Manjunath Temple that dates back to 1068 A.D. It is located on the highest hill in Karnataka and the main attraction is the bronze statue of Lokeshwara, which is claimed to be the best bronze statue in India.

To add to this there are 'Pandava Caves' located at the top most part of the hill. The Kudroli Gokarnath temple is an important tourist spot, while the Shri Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple is an important pilgrim center. Here tourists should see the many sacred temples like Sharavu, Kadri, Mangaladevi, Kudroli

Karkala Gomateshwara

Karkala Gomateshwara is located about a kilometre away from the centre of Karkala, a small town. It is located in the picturesque Shiradi ghats, about 55 km towards the Northeast of Mangalore and about 370 km from Bangalore. It is essentially a temple town and has a famous Vishnu temple, but it is known more for its monolithic statue of Bahubali called the Karkala Gomateshwara.
Karkala Gomateshwara is located atop a hill, called the Bahubali hill. It is a towering monolithic granite structure and one among the five main Gomateshwaras in the state. It rises 42 feet and is the second tallest in the state after the Gomateshwara in Shravanabelagola. It was established in 1432 AD by King Veera Pandya following instructions from Guru Lalitakeerti who headed the Karakala Jain Mutt. From the base of the hill, a slightly curving set of steps, quite steep in places, leads visitors to the top. On the way is the Parshwanatha Padmavati Basadi, a Jain shrine. The statue is enclosed by a square compound in front of which is a tall carved pillar called the manasthamba, and flanked by shrines dedicated to Parshwanatha and Sheetalanatha. There is also a large mantapa for conducting yajnas and other rituals. The hills where the Karkala Gomateshwara is located also provides panoramic views of the surrounding areas including the famous Ramasamudra lake.

Apart from Karkala Gomateshwara the other Jain monuments worthy of a visit in Karkala are the Chaturmukha Basadi, which is so called because it has four entrances, and is believed to have been built in the mid 16th century by King Bhairasa the Second. It has beautiful high ceilings and has shrines dedicated to three Jain Tirthankaras Sri Arhat, Malli and Suvrate apart from smaller images of 24 Tirthankaras. Other must see places include the Neminatha Basadi in Hiriangadi, Attur and
Moodabidri.

An ancient town overlooked by rocky hill, draws over lakhs devotees from across the world who throng the place to seek solace at the feet of the colossal monolith of Lord Gomateshwara, a perfect testimony to compassion, serenity, sacrifice and grace.

The devotees include believers not just from the Jain community, but from across - cutting through barriers of caste, creed, and religion.

During the 10 hour ceremony, priests climb hundreds of steps leading to the top of monolith, the 2nd largest in the world, and empty hundreds of pots of tender coconut, sugarcane juice, milk, rice flour, turmeric paste, kashaya (a herbal concoction), shrigandha (sandal paste), chandana (coloured sandal paste), ashtagandha (eight varieties of sandal paste), saffron, gold and silver flowers, and precious stones

Presidents of the US, France and Russia, and possibly China, are planning to visit India and bring the country huge commercial contracts in the next two months, the Times of India reported Monday.

US President Barack Obama is scheduled to visit India this weekend, with commercial deals worth $15 billion between the US and India.

Beleaguered at home, French President Nicholas Sarkozy will visit India from December 6 and sign a billion-dollar deal to upgrade Mirage fighter planes owned by India's air force

Following Sarkozy, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is also expected to sign a slew of defense deals and reaffirm an old friendship with India

At a meeting in Hanoi on Friday, Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao also said he was considering a visit to India at the end of this year on an invitation by his Indian counterpart, Manmohan Singh.

"Leaders of world powers just happened to visit India one after another in a short period, but it doesn't mean India's international influence has virtually improved," Fu Xiaoqiang, a researcher of South Asian Studies at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, told the Global Times.
"India has developed rapidly in past years, and it has already been recognized as a nuclear power. Then the desire of a few nationalists in India to let the country be a pole in the multilateral world starts to inflate," Fu said. "However, compared with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, India is only bigger than Russia in terms of economy."

‘Art of War’ and ‘Principles of War’

China continues to be driven by Sun Tzu’s philosophy. Sun Tzu had said:-
  • For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the supreme excellence.
  • Those skilled in war subdue the enemy’s army without battle.
  • The height of strategic wisdom is to avoid all conflicts and entanglements from which there are no realistic exits.
  • Ideal winning is winning without bloodshed. By playing with psychological weaknesses of the opponent, by manoeuvering enemy to precarious position, by inducing feeling of frustration and confusion, a strategist can get the other side to break down mentally before surrendering physically or psychologically.
  • Wisdom lies in defeating the strategy rather than the military.
China is doing nothing new but following the ‘Art of War’ and ‘Principles of War’ laid down by Sun Tzu. It is waging war on India without field armies. The intent is clear — to subdue India without fighting a war.

Nellis Air Force Base (AFB) in Nevada is the home of the US Air Force Warfare Centre (USAFWC), tasked with training pilots to become the best combat aviators in the world. The USAFWC has at its disposal every aircraft in the air force's inventory with the huge Nellis Air Force Range (NAFR) just to the north of the airfield. Divided now into two zones, north and south, the NAFR is the largest US range covering some 4,700 square miles. A larger area of 14,800 square miles, which is half the size of Scotland, is available for military flying operations. The NAFR contains dummy airfields, unprepared runways, Surface to Air Missile (SAM) sites, Surface to Surface Missiles (SSM), Anti-aircraft artillery and bunkers, in fact everything you would expect in a war zone. The training is conducted with air and ground units of the Army, Navy and Marine Corps. Many allied nations are also able to train at Nellis, it is vital that the Allied coalition forces as seen during both Gulf Wars, are able to fly and fight together as one seamless unit.

mungaru male song remake,

Pak flood affected Christians, other minorities facing aid discrimination

2010-08-27 16:30:00

Christians and other minorities affected by the devastating floods in Pakistan are allegedly facing "systematic discrimination" in the distribution of aid.
"Christian refugees are often ignored. They are purposely not identified and registered. Thus, they are automatically excluded from any healthcare or food, as they supposedly do not exist," the Daily Times quoted a local NGO worker, as saying.
Earlier, the Fides news agency, a branch of the Vatican's Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples, claimed that aid was handled either by Muslim relief organisations or by government officials close to fundamentalists. Both were allegedly discriminating against Christians and other minorities in distributing aid essential for survival.
About 200,000 Christian refugees in Punjab and about 600,000 Christians and Hindus in Sindh are reportedly affected by the phenomenon. (ANI)
