Sand sculpture contests



A 200-foot long sand sculpture of Kumbakarna made by Pramod Patnaik is a star attraction at the utsav. The longest sand sculpture ever made in India, it is likely to find a place in the Limca book of records. It took 12 days to build the sculpture with 4,000 tonnes of sand. It has been built at a cost of Rs. 3.75 lakh.

KITE FLYING




Kite-flying contest and boat race would be included in the beach festival to be held at Panambur.

Beach festival

The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Team Mangalore have organised an international kite festival for the first time Sunday at the Panambur beach .07
